Enhancing User Experience: A Redesigned Translation Tab in the Consentmo App
We are excited to announce a new update to our Consentmo app that aims to improve user experience and simplify the process of managing cookie consent on your website. The Translation tab has been redesigned, now grouping features into separate sections, making it easier for users to understand and configure their settings.
Is translating the Cookie bar important?
As online businesses continue to grow and expand globally, it's crucial to ensure that your website is accessible and understandable to a diverse audience. This is particularly important when it comes to cookie consent and compliance with data privacy regulations such as GDPR. By translating the cookie bar into different languages, you can make sure that visitors of your website are able to understand and consent to the use of cookies, regardless of their language or location. This can help to build trust with your customers and avoid potential legal issues, ultimately benefiting your business in the long run.
Manual and Automatic translations
Having the option to translate the cookie bar manually and automatically is essential for online shop owners who want to reach a global audience. Manual translation allows for complete control over the language used, ensuring that the translation accurately reflects the intended message. However, it can be time-consuming and may require the assistance of a professional translator.
Automatic translation, on the other hand, can be a quick and cost-effective solution, but may not always provide the translations exactly how you want them.
By providing both options, our Consentmo app allows users to choose the translation method that best fits their needs, ensuring that their website is accessible to as many people as possible while still maintaining control over the language and message presented to visitors.

Default Language Setup section
In the first section of the Translation tab, we have grouped together two essential features:
Set Language For The Cookie Bar & Preferences popup
Set Language For The Data Collection Text
One of our most significant updates last year was making the automatic translation of the Cookie Bar free for all users. As a result, we have added more languages to choose from in these two features. Our app users can now translate the Cookie Bar and Data Collection text into 27 languages with just one click, including Bulgarian, Croatian, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Estonian, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hungarian, Irish, Italian, Latvian, Lithuanian, Maltese, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovak, Slovenian, Spanish, Swedish, and Japanese.
Under these two features, you can see a text field called Action required after selecting a language. There we explain the steps that need to be taken with text and gifs for a better visualization after the automatic translation is done.
Changing the language in the Cookie bar and Preferences popup + refreshing the metafields
Adjacent to these essential features is the latest addition to the Translation tab, the Cookie Bar and Preferences popup preview. This new addition provides a visual representation of how your Cookie Bar and Preferences popup will look when the language is changed automatically taking into consideration the design you have chosen. By previewing them in different languages, our app users can confirm that their website is visually appealing and user-friendly to multilingual visitors.

Manual Translation section
Additionally, we have included a section to guide our users on how to manually translate the Cookie Bar in case their language is not available in the options above. In this section, we have provided YouTube video tutorials on how merchants can translate their Cookie Bar and Preferences popup, Compliance pages, and Request emails and pages manually. We understand that manual translation can be time-consuming, especially for those without prior experience in translation. Therefore, our tutorials provide step-by-step guidance, ensuring that users can efficiently and accurately translate their website content.

Integration with translation apps section
Furthermore, on translating the languages on your store, if you are using a 3rd-party app, we've got you covered. We are already working with the following translation apps: Translate my Store, Langify, Weglot, Gtranslate, Translation Lab, Transcy, LangShop, Translate & Adapt app by Shopify, Transl8, and ETranslate. To facilitate this option, we have included a section that provides a link to our Integrations tab. There, users can access information on the apps and how to integrate them. This feature provides users with the flexibility to choose a translation app that best suits their needs and seamlessly integrate it with our Consentmo app.
This section includes instructions for managing the metafields settings. The process involves adding the metafields code first and then refreshing them. To get started, users should copy the metafields code using the Copy button. Next, they should navigate to the theme.liquid file using the link in step 3 and paste the code in the appropriate location. Finally, users should refresh their metafields by clicking the Refresh Metafields button above or the link provided in step 1.

Language For The Compliance Pages section
In this Premium Feature section, we have included an automatic translation of the GDPR Compliance Page in multiple European languages, as well as the APPI Compliance Page in both English and Japanese. With this feature, users can easily translate their compliance pages into the required languages and guarantee that their website is in compliance with data privacy regulations in different regions. Once the page is translated, users can view it by clicking on the View Your page button. This is a simple and efficient solution to manage the compliance pages and make sure that the website is compliant with data privacy regulations.

Language For The Requests Emails & Requests Pages section
In this section, we have included the translation of GDPR and APPI Requests Emails and Requests Pages. By default, the request emails and pages will be in the user's theme language. However, with our automatic translation feature, users can easily translate these pages into multiple European languages for GDPR and English and Japanese for APPI. This feature provides users with a hassle-free solution to organize their request emails and pages and establishes that they are in compliance with data privacy regulations in different regions. In this section, we have also placed a gif that visualizes the prosses of sending a Request email from a Compliance page, receiving it, and opening the Request pages.

An additional function that the Consentmo app has is the Language Browser Detection. It allows the app to detect the language used in the store and show any content related to the Compliance pages, Request submissions, the emails received by customers when submitting a request, and the Request Pages in that language.
Conclusion
The latest updates to the Translation tab of our Consentmo app provide users with a comprehensive solution for managing their website's language translation requirements. With our automatic and manual translation features, users can easily translate their Cookie bar, Preferences popup, Data Collection text, Compliance Pages, Request Emails, and Request Pages into multiple languages, ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations in different regions. Additionally, our integration with 3rd-party translation apps provides users with even more options for managing their website's language translation needs. Overall, these updates make sure that our app continues to provide our users with the necessary tools to manage their website's data privacy compliance.
