March brought a fresh batch of updates and features to Consentmo - designed to give Shopify merchants more flexibility, more design options, and an easier way to manage consent and compliance across their stores. Whether you’re on our Standard, Plus, or Enterprise plan, there’s something new for you.

In this blog, we’ll walk you through everything that’s been added or improved in the app during March. From display rules and design tweaks to new features for consent tracking and policy management - this roundup covers it all.

New Features

Let’s kick things off with the brand-new features you can now use in the Consentmo app.

🔹Banner Display Control on Specific Pages (Plus and Enterprise)

We’ve added new options that let you decide exactly where your cookie banner shows up. Want to display it only on your homepage? You can. Want to hide it from a product launch page or a campaign landing page? That’s now possible too. This feature gives merchants more power to reduce distractions on key pages, cut down on bounce rates, and avoid visual clutter where it’s not needed.

  • You can find this feature under Consent Banner tab > Behaviour section.

🔹Implied Consent Option (Plus and Enterprise)

For stores that operate in regions where implied consent is permitted, we now offer a flexible alternative to explicit consent. With implied consent, the banner doesn’t need a direct click to register consent. Instead, you can trigger it when a visitor clicks anywhere outside the banner, scrolls 20% of the page, or refreshes or opens another page on your store. All actions are logged in Consent Records, so you still get full visibility into how consent was given.

  • You can find this feature under Consent Banner tab > Behavior section.

🔹Dialog Cookie Banner (Plus and Enterprise)

This new banner style brings a refreshed design and better usability. It’s fully responsive, works across screen sizes, and allows visitors to accept or reject specific cookie categories without having to open a separate preferences popup. The result? A faster, more focused way for users to manage their choices.

  • You can find this feature under Consent Banner tab > Design section.

🔹Custom Cookie Duration (All Plans)

Now you can decide how often to re-ask for consent. Whether you want the banner to reappear every 7 days or only once every 90 days - it’s up to you. Set any time frame between 1 and 400 days. This helps you stay aligned with privacy requirements while offering more control over how frequently your visitors see the banner.

  • You can find this feature under Consent Banner > Behavior section.

🔹Custom Button Order (All Premium Plans)

Want to switch up the order of the Accept, Reject, and Preferences buttons? You can now do that without any code. The layout options adjust automatically based on the buttons you’ve selected, and you can rearrange them using a dropdown menu. This gives you more flexibility to match the design to your store and test what works best for increasing opt-ins.

  • You can find this feature under Consent Banner tab > Behavior section.

🔹Do Not Sell Page Generator (All Premium Plans)

Need to meet CCPA requirements? You can now create a "Do Not Sell" page directly from within Consentmo. The page includes all the content needed to inform users how they can opt out of having their data sold. We’ve also added instructions to help you place the page in your store’s footer, where it’s expected to appear.

  • You can find this feature under Policies > Do Not Sell page section.

New Updates

Consentmo is more than just features. We’ve also improved the experience for users with thoughtful interface changes and behind-the-scenes updates.

🔹Reset Customer Preferences UI

We’ve updated the design of the Reset Customer Preferences page. It’s now more intuitive, with improved customization and clearer actions.

  • You can find this update under Settings > Reset Customer Preferences.

🔹Adaptive Mobile Experience (AME) Updates

We’ve upgraded the AME section to make mobile consent banners easier to manage and better-looking on small screens.

You can preview how both the cookie banner and preferences popup will look, switch between them, and choose the banner’s position on the screen - Top, Center, or Bottom. A new close icon has been added, and longer banner texts now include a "Read more" button to avoid overcrowding the screen.

  • You can find this update under Consent Banner tab > Design section.

🔹Top Bar Navigation Refined

We’ve cleaned up the top bar across the app. Now, it’s visible only on the Dashboard, not on every page. The buttons - View Scan Result, What’s New, Support, and Language - have also been rearranged to prioritize the most-used options. This helps you focus more on the main content instead of clicking through the top bar.

  • You can find this update under the Dashoboard tab.

🔹Onboarding Improvements

We’ve made it easier for new users to get started with Consentmo. Language selection is now avaliable only in the beggining of setup. The preview background has been updated to a plain grey for better visibility. Banner previews now feature shadows for a clearer look.

We’ve also reorganized the most popular button layouts to be shown first, with a “Show more” option for others. Button styles now remain consistent across steps, reducing confusion. These changes are all about making the onboarding flow smoother and more beginner-friendly.

🔹Refined Getting Started Process

We’ve also redesigned the three-step Getting Started process. Each step now includes images on the right side, guiding merchants through setup with more clarity. And when you click the “Check Compliance” button from the App Embed banner, it now automatically marks the step as complete.

🔹Language Management Overhaul

We’ve rebuilt the way you manage languages inside Consentmo. You can now manage everything from one place - you can choose the default language for your banner, preferences popup, and cookie info table.

  • You can find this update under Settings > Language.

You can also adjust the text for each individual language. No technical knowledge needed. Plus, the system now syncs with the languages you’ve enabled in your Shopify Store Settings, so everything stays in sync.

  • You can find this update under Consent Banner > Content > Multilingual cookie banner languages

🔹New Policies Tab

We’ve introduced a new Policies tab that brings all DSAR-related content together in one place. This section includes:

  • DSAR Pages
  • DSAR Languages
  • Do Not Sell Page
  • DSAR Emails
  • DSAR Request Page

DSAR Pages now feature updated buttons and cleaner styles. In the DSAR Languages section, you can use a dropdown to assign languages to each page. The DSAR Emails section has been fully redesigned for better usability and now shows all types of emails related to DSAR processes. This layout makes managing privacy requests easier and more organized.

The Do Not Sell section is brand new and includes all tools to support CCPA opt-out requirements.

  • You can find this update under Policies tab.

Wrapping Up

Consentmo’s March update was all about giving merchants more control over how they collect and manage consent. Whether it’s deciding where to display your banner, choosing between implied or explicit consent, adjusting button order, or creating legally required pages - there are more tools than ever inside the app.

We’ve also focused on making the experience smoother with a better mobile view, refined onboarding, and clearer policy management.

If you haven’t explored these features yet, head over to the Consentmo app and check them out.

Stay tuned for even more updates next month. We’re constantly working on making Consentmo more flexible and easier to use for Shopify merchants everywhere.
